Personal Freedom Guided Journal

“What we think determines what happens to us, so if we want to change our lives,

we need to stretch our minds.” ~ Wayne Dyer

Do you feel like you are striving but not getting where you want to go?

Are you taking care of everyone around you and not taking care of your business?

Are you just surviving your life?

Are things piling up creating feelings of being overwhelmed, frustrated, and guilt?

I felt that way many years ago and found a way to freedom and success.

My truth was my inner person didn’t match my outer person.

I looked like I had it together but inside, everyday was a struggle.

I spent more time and money on my outer self than my inner self until I couldn’t live with my perceived out come . . . so I started learning and now I would like to share with you.

I have created a guided journal (a daily walk) with many of the tools inside that I used to reach freedom and success.

You may be thinking, you don’t have another minute to spare right now or now may not be the right time for something new.  The truth is 90% of our behavior is a habit. WOW, 90%

From the time we get up in the morning until the time we fall into bed, there are hundreds of things we do the same way every day. Shower, makeup/shave, eat breakfast, brush your teeth, get the family ready, conversations, cleaning your house, shopping, foods, what you think about, hundreds of the same activities the same every day. Those habits determine how well all the other areas work in your life, from your relationships to your health, to well being, and your income.

We operate on auto pilot going through the motions of actions and auto thoughts. We become locked into unconscious self-defeating behavior that defeat our growth and limit our success, even though we want more from our life. Our habits determine our outcome.

I decided I didn’t like the outcome of my life, so I started new habits.

The first, I realized happiness was my choice. Next, if I wanted to change my results I must change my thinking.  My habit of thoughts was honestly really bad, like the things I said to myself I would never say to my own children.  I started with affirmations, new thoughts, a few everyday over and over.  Did I believe what I was saying, No! but I believed in the concept and had to try it.

Where did I find the time? It was important enough to me so I decided if I wanted change I had to do something about it and I made it a priority.  I had to stand up in my own personal power and not end up like the bag lady I had created in my head. The person I thought I would end up as.

The next thing I started was writing in a journal.  In the beginning all I wrote was what was happening that day, usually complaining about what was wrong. Makes me laugh now to think about how far I have come. Then I started writing affirmations and my feelings about topics and myself. Then I added things I was grateful for and now most all my journal writing is positive.

Then I added dreams, imaginations, and visuals of what I wanted.

So many wonderful tools that helped me go from a “Bag Lady” mentality to a “Million-Dollar-Amazing” team, making more money than I had ever imagined. My well being, attitude, prosperity, health, and relationships truly have magnified  because of the NEW habits I incorporated into my life.

Many of the tools I share with you, in a guided journey I call “Personal Freedom,” and developed into a program.  It is a 35-day guided program with daily steps because it takes doing something for at least 30 days in a row to become a new habit. It will require 10-20 minutes a day.

What are you willing to give up to get what you want?

If you decide to take this journey with me, your guide will come to you every day in an email, you will want to set aside time to do the tasks of writing in your journal and incorporating new thoughts into your thinking.

The investment is your time, commitment, and a one time fee of $25.00 without coaching or $65.00 with coaching and/or sharing during your 35 days with an appointment.

Your customers have an expectation of you as a professional.

By dressing to meet their expectations, you will create a more positive first and lasting impression about who you are and your abilities as a person and a professional.  When you meet your customers image expectations you establish credibility and exert a more significant influence.  Your image promotes a level of trust.

Your inner values will also show in your magnetism.  The words you use and the energy you exchange.  Personal growth, as well as your professionalism, goes hand in hand.

Success Breeds Success……..Success is a habit, so is failure and so is mediocrity.   Success can be learned when you are coachable.   Being coachable is a great gift and a tremendous asset.

Dress for the job and the life you desire.

This is your journey and I wish you success.

{PPS} Intention!

“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.”~Pablo Picasso

“You have undoubtedly heard the phrase, ‘Plan your work and work your plan.’ Planning is as important as purpose because it gets you where you’re going… faster. To do twice as much in half the time, you can’t approach your goals haphazardly. A well-thought plan will keep you clearly on track towards your goal; and the methods of planning are as varied as our personalities. So, what is your method of planning?” ~Amy Jones

Each month set an intention/plan or Set of Goals at the beginning . Write down what you would like to see happen and post it on your office wall or planner to keep you focused. Set your GPS on where I want to go. Here is a list to get you started, use what works for you….

What happened to my Self-Discipline?

“How to Develop Self-Discipline”

“If you do not conquer yourself, you will be conquered by yourself.” ~ Napoleon Hill

2008-08-02 08.50.43

Most people act first and think about the consequences later.  As you develop and choose self-discipline, you’re going to reverse this process.  You’ll learn to think before you act and to act regardless of your emotional state. You’ll find yourself willing to sacrifice the thrill of the moment for what matters most in your life in the long run.

It’s self-discipline that allows you to:

  • Work on a project after the initial rush of enthusiasm has gone
  • Go to the gym when all you want to do is lie down and watch TV
  • Practice, Practice, Practice
  • Say “no” when tempted to break your diet
  • Only check your email twice a day

How to Develop Self-Discipline
If self-discipline is not your strongest point, then the good news is that it can be developed!!  Self-discipline is like a muscle.  The more you train it, the stronger it gets.

This is something that I’ve worked on a lot (and I still have lots of room to improve), and one of the greatest questions I’ve learned to ask myself is:

“How Will I Feel About Myself?”

How will I feel about myself if I eat this cupcake?
How will I feel about myself if I don’t complete this project?
How will I feel about myself if I exercise today?
How will I feel about myself if I take the time to meditate this morning?

The first step in building self-discipline is to start tackling challenges that you can successfully accomplish but which are near your limit. Once you succeed, increase the challenge.

A good place to start is to do certain things that you would rather avoid doing due to laziness, procrastination, shyness, etc. This simple challenge will help you overcome your subconscious resistance, train your mind to obey you and gain inner strength.

Why Most People Lack Self-Discipline

A common personality trait is our human desire for immediate short-term gratification.  This means that rather than waiting for something to happen in the future, most people want to experience something right now without waiting. This is what keeps most people from seeing the “Bigger Picture” and instead getting lured into immediate experiences.  We have been trained from past experiences to be this way. We can choose to change  and make a conscious decision to do what it takes.

Define Your Purpose
One of the best ways to get your mind on your side is to keep it busy with a definite purpose, backed by a clear plan. Have a clear set of priorities. Without purpose or passion, it’s hard to find the energy to keep your focus.

To practice self-discipline, do what high achievers do. Imagine yourself into the future. (If you want assistance with this, let me know.)

Visualize the benefits or rewards you will receive. Imagine how wonderful you will feel once you’ve accomplished your goal or intention. See it as if it has already happened!!

Celebrate Success

Once you have evidence of your self-discipline, celebrate it! Even if it’s something little.  Like…. if you don’t usually make your bed and you finally got yourself to do it, that is worth Celebrating.

Celebrating doesn’t have to be fancy. It can be something as simple as literally patting yourself on the back and saying, “Good job, Me!” or Do a happy dance!  Be Loud and Proud!!

It is a process always unfolding!

{PPS} I scare myself

fear-of-success-505x200What is Fear? Can you touch it?  Can you hold it?  Can you show it to another person?

You can’t, so the question then is, why? Why do we have fear? Where does it come from?

Fear is an emotion or a feeling that we hold in our mind. We fear either the emotional or physical pain something may cause. The challenge is, these emotions and feelings affect the way we live our lives and do our business. We fear doing certain things because we think we might fail or look bad. This may be due to past failures we have actually experienced or it may be due to failures we fear we might experience.

Choose to remember and live by the following motto.

Fear stands for:

Most of the time what we fear, we have never even experienced! Isn’t that crazy? You see, your mind has a hard time determining whether you’ve actually experienced the failure or just imagined it. Either way, you feel the physiological symptoms of the fear, such as an upset stomach.

Often, because we can imagine some sort of failure, we believe it will come true, and then we don’t even try! Really there is, no failure just experiences to give us awareness. Awareness will help us to see what we can change or see what stops us.

The question now becomes who defines what “failure” and “success” is? You do, right?  Either you create the definition yourself or you accept someone else’s definition.

Is it true then that some people create more difficult definitions of success and failure for themselves than others do? Yes, so what is your definition? What do you say to yourself?

The more difficult your definition of success is to obtain, the more fear you will attach to it. You can choose to not allow your own definitions limit you; or even worse, the definitions of others. Create new thoughts about your fear and in time as you practice those new thoughts they will become new habits of thought.

What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? Imagine what you can do in your life with that type of belief system. Try thinking of every “failure” as a success. That is, every time you “fail” at something, you have really succeeded because you have learned what does not work. Therefore, you are closer to succeeding the next time you try.

Remember that the past does not equal the future. Yesterday’s failure does not equal your future outcomes. Just because you believe you may have failed yesterday, or even five minutes ago, it doesn’t mean you are going to fail again. Choose to learn from what from it and change your approach and thoughts. The past is what has taught you how to succeed in the future.

 Be bold and practice success!

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself – nameless, unreasoning, unjustified, terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”
—- FDR – First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1933

{PP} Hot or Cold?

What is the temperature of your business today?

Each day ask yourself a set of questions to measure where you are. Knowing will give you awareness, and power to more in your intended direction.

Keeping a Journal will have great value in that measure over time. It is like taking the temperature of your feelings, your focus and what direction you are going. It could give you clarity on what may be stopping you. It will also help you look back in appreciation of your journey. Two journals would be the best one for business and one for personal.

For now let’s focus on business. Here are a few questions to get you started.

How do I feel about my business today? ( using a scale from 1-10 may be helpful)

What feels Successful?

What one single action could I take for my business today to make me feel just a little better about it?

Wouldn’t it be nice if____________________.

Be easy on yourself; take no more than 5 minutes and move forward.

Asking yourself questions is a powerful habit to embrace; it gives clarity, purpose and sets your GPS for the day. ~Kim Echols
